Frequent oil changes are essential to maintain engine performance. It is dangerous to run with degraded oil, but just changing the oil is not enough to attack mountain passes and circuits.

There is no oil in the place where the engine oil is sucked up, and the oil pump sucks AIR and the hydraulic pressure drops significantly. (Especially for FF vehicles with horizontal engine) If the oil pressure drops less than 1.5kg·cm2, the engine may be severely damaged.
