Depending on the area, the conventional bonnet pin may be regarded as a protrusion and may not pass the vehicle inspection. With that said, if you're worried about your genuine bonnet catch when driving at high speeds, look no further, especially with lightweight carbon and FRP bonnets. The aero catch reduces air resistance, and has no problem passing vehicle inspections because it's flat against the bonnet. There are two types of aero catch, one with a key and one without a key.
