The upper seat is set independently on the top of the spring, so when the suspension operates, the spring stroke is not affected by the angle change of the shock absorber, and the spring itself only strokes in the vertical direction. By using the upper seat mount, the input during this stroke acts mainly on the pillow ball. It makes you feel that the initial movement and spring rate are "hard" and "dull".
